Donating does not have to mean money! I know for many people, as much as they want to, sometimes that is unrealistic. For me, I try to stay involved by following the blogs and signing petitions that are posted. While researching these, I found more ways to get involved to help our planet, and our people.

Environmentally Focused Charities:

Earth Day Network has many different types of campaigns to raise money and awareness of climate change and plastic pollution, plant trees, and save animal species!

My personal favorite campaign is Artists for the Earth - it takes art and uses it as an educational tool to teach about environmental activism.

The NRDC works to help the planet, and the animals and people on it. Here you can donate money to help those in Flint, Michigan that still do not have water, help protect the Arctic wildlife, stop toilet paper companies from destroying our forests, and much more.

This is one of the organizations I am pretty regularly involved with, signing petitions and trying to educate myself on what is going on. A few of their campaigns include working towards 100% clean energy, preserving national parks, and integrating social justice with environmental concerns.

Taking care of our earth means we also have to take care of the people on it - here's three more places to donate to do just that:

IPA is different than most other charities that are meant to help people in poverty, they work with government and businesses to research, evaluate, and refine their actions to make the greatest impact.

CCH advocates for the homeless people in Chicago, helping them find access to shelters, affordable housing, jobs, and more.

ARC helps provide water, food, shelter, emergency care, and education to refugees. They are currently working in 11 different countries, including Pakistan, Sudan, Syria, and more.
